Streak-headed Woodcreeper, Lepidocolaptes souleyetii, is a bird of Middle and South America, ranging from western Mexico to Guyana and north-western Peru. It belongs to the ovenbird family Furnariidae and was described by Lafresnaye in 1849. It is a slim, medium-sized woodcreeper with a long, slender, downcurved bill, and the sexes look alike. The nominate form shows strong streaking on the head and underparts, with rufous-olive to cinnamon-brown upperparts and cinnamon-rufous to rufous-chestnut wings, rump and tail. It lives in wooded habitats, often semi-open, and remains in the same area all year.
