Streaked Flycatcher

Myiodynastes maculatus

The Streaked Flycatcher is a medium-sized passerine bird found in Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive streaked plumage, with a grayish-brown back and wings, and a pale gray throat and breast. This species is often found in open woodlands, forest edges, and second growth habitats, where it perches on exposed branches to catch insects in mid-air. The Streaked Flycatcher is known for its sharp, distinctive call and acrobatic flight patterns. While its population is currently stable, habitat loss and deforestation pose potential threats to its future survival.
