Trochalopteron virgatum
The Streaked Laughingthrush, scientifically known as Trochalopteron virgatum, is a medium-sized bird found in the mountainous regions of southern China and northern Vietnam. It is characterized by its distinctive streaked plumage, with shades of brown, gray, and white. These birds are known for their melodious calls and are often found in small groups foraging for insects, fruits, and seeds. They inhabit dense undergrowth and bamboo thickets in montane forests, often at elevations between 1000-2500 meters. The Streaked Laughingthrush is currently classified as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List, with no major threats identified at present.
