Streaked Wren-Babbler

Stachyris strialata

The Streaked Wren-Babbler (Stachyris strialata) is a small, secretive bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its streaked brown and buff plumage, with a distinctive white streak above the eye. This species forages on the forest floor, feeding on insects and small invertebrates. It is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the early morning and late afternoon. The Streaked Wren-Babbler is typically found in dense undergrowth and bamboo thickets, where it builds its cup-shaped nest. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation pose potential risks to its populations.
