Streaky Seedeater
Crithagra striolata (Rüppell, 1840)
Fringillidae — Finches, Euphonias
Streaky Seedeater, Crithagra striolata, is a finch in the family Fringillidae and breeds in eastern Africa. It is native to the eastern Afromontane, where it occurs as a breeding resident in woodland edges, scrubland and forest edges in the Degua Tembien mountains. It was once placed in Serinus, but later work on mitochondrial and nuclear DNA showed that this group did not form a single natural lineage, so the species was moved to Crithagra.
