Striated Grasswren, Amytornis striatus, is a passerine of the Maluridae found in mallee spinifex of eastern Australia. It is a ground-living bird of arid and semi-arid country, tied to spinifex-dominated habitat. The species is slim and long-tailed, with a slender pointed bill, and its plumage varies across its range to match local soils and rocks. Birds are soft red-brown above with white streaking, an orange-buff eyebrow and fore-supercilium, a white throat, a bold black submostachial stripe, and buffish underparts. Females show a brighter rufous flank-patch.
