Striated Grasswren

Amytornis striatus

The Striated Grasswren (Amytornis striatus) is a small, ground-dwelling bird native to Australia. It is known for its distinctive striated plumage, with brown and white streaks on its upperparts and a buff-colored underbelly. This species is typically found in arid and semi-arid regions, where it forages for insects and seeds among low shrubs and grasses. The Striated Grasswren is known for its skulking behavior, often remaining hidden in dense vegetation. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, its populations are declining in some areas. Conservation efforts are underway to protect its remaining habitats.
