Striated Pardalote

Pardalotus striatus

The Striated Pardalote is a small, colorful bird native to Australia. It is known for its distinctive plumage, with black and white stripes on its head and a bright yellow patch on its throat. These birds are often found in eucalypt forests and woodlands, where they forage for insects and spiders. They build intricate, domed nests made from grass and bark, often tucked into tree hollows. Striated Pardalotes are highly social and often form small flocks, communicating with high-pitched calls. While they are not currently considered at risk, habitat loss and changes in forest management could impact their populations in the future.
