Striated Prinia

Prinia crinigera

The Striated Prinia is a small, insectivorous bird found in grasslands, scrublands, and open woodlands across South and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive streaked plumage, with brown upperparts and a pale underbelly. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard during the breeding season. Striated Prinias are skilled at foraging for insects in the dense vegetation, using their slender bills to capture prey. While their populations are generally stable, habitat loss and degradation pose significant threats to their long-term survival.
