Striated Softtail, Thripophaga macroura, is a passerine of the ovenbird family found in south-east Brazil, where it is confined to coastal forest in the east of the country. It lives in tropical lowland evergreen forest, especially where thick vine tangles are present, and occurs from near sea level up to 1,000 m. It is a resident bird throughout its range. The sexes look alike, and adults show a buff eyebrow and pale lores, with a dark reddish-brown upperpart pattern and a pale tawny to cinnamon-rufous tail.
