Stripe-backed Antbird

Myrmorchilus strigilatus

The Stripe-backed Antbird is a small passerine bird found in South America. It is known for its distinctive black and white striped plumage on the back, with a white throat and belly. This species is often found in the understory of humid forests, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates. The male and female share parental duties, building a cup-shaped nest and raising their young together. The Stripe-backed Antbird is not currently considered to be at risk, with a stable population and a wide distribution across its range.
