Striped Sparrow, Oriturus superciliosus, is a passerine of the family Passerellidae that lives in western and central Mexico. It is confined to Mexico and breeds in the Mexican highlands, especially the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. Its range also reaches parts of the southern Sierra Madre Oriental, the Balsas River basin and the Sierra Madre del Sur. The bird is the sole member of its genus. It is associated with montane grassland, scattered shrubs, pine forest and pine-oak forest in upper subtropical and temperate zones.
