Subtropical Doradito

Pseudocolopteryx acutipennis (Sclater, PL & Salvin, 1873)

Subtropical Doradito, Pseudocolopteryx acutipennis, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family found in South America from Colombia to north-west Argentina. It is a bird of reedbeds, marshes, wet pastures, sedgy fields and brushy places close to water, and also uses grassy areas with few sedges. Its range is broken, with populations in the Andes and farther south, and it occurs in Brazil only outside the breeding season. The species has a short shaggy crest, and adults show the same plumage in both sexes, with a bright olive head and upperparts, golden-yellow underparts, and a slender black bill.
