Subtropical Pygmy Owl, Glaucidium parkeri, is an owl of the Andes in South America, with a breeding range from Ecuador to Bolivia. It belongs to the family Strigidae and was described by Robbins and Howell in 1995. It is tied to humid montane forest on the eastern Andean slope. The species is known in a brown form and a rarer rufous form. In the brown form, the crown is grey-brown, the face shows clear white spotting, and the nape carries black false eyes.
