Sulawesi Lilac Kingfisher, Cittura cyanotis, lives in lowland forest on Sulawesi and Lembeh in Australasia. It is a kingfisher of the family Alcedinidae, first described by Temminck in 1824. The bird has the usual kingfisher form, with a short tail and a long bill. The adult male shows a brown crown and upper back, a rufous rump and tail, a blue face mask, a pale lilac ear tuft, white underparts and blue wings. Its bill is red and broad.
