Geokichla crossleyi

The Sulawesi Thrush (Geokichla crossleyi) is a medium-sized bird found in the montane forests of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage with a striking yellow eye-ring. This thrush is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for invertebrates and small fruits. Its melodious song can often be heard echoing through the dense foliage. The Sulawesi Thrush is an important seed disperser in its habitat, contributing to the regeneration of the forest ecosystem. However, due to habitat loss and fragmentation, its population is declining, and it is currently classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
