Sulphur-breasted Flycatcher

Eutrichomyias rowleyi

The Sulphur-breasted Flycatcher (Eutrichomyias rowleyi) is a small passerine bird found in the montane forests of New Guinea. It is characterized by its striking yellow breast and belly, contrasting with its dark upperparts. This species is known for its distinctive call, a series of melodious whistles. Sulphur-breasted Flycatchers are often observed foraging for insects in the mid to upper canopy of the forest. They are known to be territorial and can be seen performing aerial displays during the breeding season. Despite being relatively common within its range, the Sulphur-breasted Flycatcher faces potential threats from habitat loss and degradation.
