Sulphur-breasted Myzomela

Sulphur-breasted Myzomela, Myzomela jugularis, is a honeyeater found in Fiji, where it breeds across the islands of the south-western Pacific except Rotuma. It is a familiar bird in gardens, rural forest, mangroves and disturbed places with coconut trees, and it also uses tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical mangrove forest. The species was described by Peale in 1849. Its nest is small, made from root fibres and concealed in shrubby growth. A clutch of two pale pink eggs marked with brown is laid and incubated for about 14 days.
