Sulphur-breasted Warbler

Phylloscopus valentini

The Sulphur-breasted Warbler (Phylloscopus valentini) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the high mountain forests of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and a distinctive yellow patch on its breast. This warbler is known for its energetic foraging behavior, often seen flitting among the foliage in search of insects and larvae. It builds its cup-shaped nest in the dense undergrowth of the forest, where it lays its eggs and raises its young. The Sulphur-breasted Warbler is a migratory species, spending the winter in lower elevations. Its populations are vulnerable to habitat loss and degradation.
