The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo (Eos squamata) is a large and striking parrot species native to the forests and woodlands of New Guinea. Known for its vibrant yellow crest and white plumage, this social and intelligent bird is often seen in flocks, displaying impressive vocal and behavioral abilities. Sulphur-crested Cockatoos are opportunistic feeders, consuming seeds, fruits, and insects. Their loud calls and raucous behavior make them a prominent and charismatic presence in their habitat. Despite being widespread, habitat loss and illegal pet trade pose threats to their population.
