Ixos sumatranus
The Sumatran Bulbul (Ixos sumatranus) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Sumatra, Indonesia. It has a distinctive olive-brown plumage with a yellowish belly and a prominent white eye-ring. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in the early morning and late afternoon. The Sumatran Bulbul feeds on a variety of insects, fruits, and small seeds, foraging in the lower and middle levels of the forest canopy. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the population of this species is declining, and it is classified as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List.
