Sun Lark, Galerida modesta, is a lark in the family Alaudidae and a passerine found across Africa. It was described by Heuglin in 1864. Its breeding range is widespread, with a broad presence across the continent. It is associated with dry savannah and subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. The species is also known as the Nigerian sun lark. Four subspecies are recognised, including forms from West Africa, Cameroon, and the far north-east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighbouring areas.
