Sunda Scops Owl

The Sunda Scops Owl (Otus sagittatus) is a small owl species found in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive ear tufts and yellow eyes. This nocturnal bird is known for its haunting hoots and is often found in lowland forests, secondary growth, and sometimes near human habitation. Its diet consists mainly of insects and small vertebrates. The Sunda Scops Owl is known for its excellent camouflage, blending in with the tree bark and foliage.
