Sunda White-eye

Zosterops ficedulinus

The Sunda White-eye (Zosterops ficedulinus) is a small passerine bird found in the Sunda region of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive white ring around the eye, olive-green upperparts, and a yellow belly. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. Sunda White-eyes are highly social and often seen in small flocks foraging for insects and nectar. They play a vital role in pollination and seed dispersal within their forest habitats. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and fragmentation, the Sunda White-eye is adaptable and can also be found in secondary growth and gardens.
