Swahili Sparrow

Swahili Sparrow, Passer suahelicus, is a passerine of the sparrow family found in eastern Africa, in savanna and human-made habitats from south-western and south-central Kenya to south-central Tanzania. It was described by Reichenow in 1904. It is set apart from the northern grey-headed sparrow by a rounder head shape, a smaller eye, and grey on the head reaching onto the mantle. It also differs in where it lives and breeds, making grass nests in Acacia trees in dry areas and avoiding wetter coastal lowlands and uplands.
