Swainson's Warbler

Limnothlypis swainsonii

Swainson's Warbler is a small, secretive songbird found in the southeastern United States. It is known for its skulking behavior in dense undergrowth, making it challenging to observe. This species has a plain olive-brown plumage with a subtle eye ring and a slightly curved bill. It forages on the forest floor, feeding on insects and spiders. Swainson's Warbler is primarily a neotropical migrant, wintering in the Caribbean and Central America. Its breeding habitat consists of swampy, wooded areas with thick undergrowth, often near water. Despite its elusive nature, its loud, distinctive song can be heard during the breeding season.
