Swamp Nightjar, Caprimulgus natalensis, is a nightjar found across Africa, with breeding recorded widely on the continent. It is most often associated with swamps, marshes and bogs, and it also occurs along forest edges. The species is sparsely distributed through sub-Saharan Africa, with stronger presence in DR Congo and neighbouring countries. Described by Smith, A, 1845, it belongs to the family Caprimulgidae and the order Caprimulgiformes.
