Swynnerton's Robin

Swynnerton's Robin, Swynnertonia swynnertoni, is a passerine of the family Muscicapidae found in south-eastern Africa. It is a localised bird of montane forest, with records from eastern Zimbabwe, western Mozambique and Tanzania. The species is notable for its white crescent across the upper breast, edged below by a black line, and for a grey tail without yellow windows. It was first described in 1906 and the name honours Charles Swynnerton. Two subspecies are recognised, one in Zimbabwe and Mozambique and another in the Udzungwa Mountains of Tanzania.
