Taczanowski's Ground Tyrant is a small passerine bird found in the high Andes of South America. It has a distinctive black and white plumage with a black mask and a long tail. This species is known for its agile foraging behavior, often seen hopping and running on the ground in search of insects. It prefers open grassy areas and high-altitude páramo habitats, where it can be found in small family groups or pairs. Taczanowski's Ground Tyrant is not currently considered to be globally threatened, but its population may be vulnerable to habitat loss and degradation.
