This species is primarily insectivorous, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the dense forest understorey. The Tahiti Monarch is a critically endangered species, with a population of only around 50 individuals. Conservation efforts are focused on protecting its remaining habitat from invasive species and habitat destruction.
