Tahiti Reed Warbler

Acrocephalus syrinx

The Tahiti Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus syrinx) is a small passerine bird native to the islands of French Polynesia. It is known for its distinctive melodious song and secretive nature, often found skulking in dense vegetation near wetlands and marshes. This warbler has a slender body, long bill, and brownish plumage with subtle streaks. It primarily feeds on insects and small invertebrates, foraging within its preferred reed and sedge habitats. Due to habitat loss and predation by introduced species, the Tahiti Reed Warbler faces conservation challenges, and its population is currently classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
