Taiwan Bush Robin

Tarsiger formosanus Hartert, EJO, 1910

Muscicapidae — Chats, Old World Flycatchers

Taiwan Bush Robin, Tarsiger formosanus, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family that breeds in Taiwan. It was first described by Hartert in 1910 from birds collected in the mountains of central Taiwan. Once treated as part of the White-browed Bush Robin, it is now recognised as a separate species. That split was supported by a 2022 phylogenetic study, along with differences in plumage and vocalisations. The species is monotypic, with no subspecies recognised.
