Taiwan Partridge, Arborophila crudigularis, is a galliform bird of the Phasianidae family that is endemic to Taiwan. It inhabits broadleaf forest in the island’s central and eastern mountains, where it is associated with thickets and undergrowth. Robert Swinhoe described it in 1864. A notable feature is the throat patch that gave rise to its scientific name, referring to a bleeding-looking throat. It is placed in a monotypic genus and is the only partridge of its kind in Taiwan.
