Taiwan Partridge

Arborophila atrogularis

The Taiwan Partridge, scientifically known as Arborophila atrogularis, is a small ground-dwelling bird endemic to the island of Taiwan. This species is characterized by its distinctive black throat and chestnut plumage. The Taiwan Partridge is typically found in dense, mountainous forests, where it forages for seeds, fruits, and insects on the forest floor. Its secretive nature and cryptic plumage make it a challenging bird to spot in the wild. Due to habitat loss and hunting pressure, the conservation status of the Taiwan Partridge is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
