Taiwan Vivid Niltava

Niltava vivida (Swinhoe, 1864)

Taiwan Vivid Niltava, Niltava vivida, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family that breeds in Taiwan. It is endemic to the island and lives in subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. First described by Swinhoe in 1864, it was once treated as the same species as the Chinese vivid niltava from the Asian mainland. The bird is also known as the small vivid niltava. Like many flycatchers, it has obvious rictal bristles at the base of the bill.
