Taiwan Whistling Thrush

Taiwan Whistling Thrush, Myophonus insularis, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family and breeds in Taiwan. It is confined to the island and lives in moist montane forest in the Oriental Region. The bird is known for its dark, ravine-dwelling mountain habitat. It was described by Gould in 1863. In Taiwan it is found in forested uplands, including steep stream valleys, and can occur at high elevations. The species is also called the Formosan whistling thrush.
