Tasman Starling

Tasman Starling, Aplonis fusca, is a passerine in the starling family and was described by Gould in 1836. It bred in Australasia on Norfolk Island and Lord Howe Island in the Tasman Sea. The species was split into two island forms, the Norfolk starling and the Lord Howe starling, after differences in plumage were noted between them. Both forms are now extinct, and the Tasman starling has gone with them.
