Taveuni Silktail, Lamprolia victoriae, breeds on Taveuni in Fiji, within the Pacific Ocean. It is a passerine in the fantail family and was described by Finsch in 1874. The bird is confined to forest on Taveuni and also uses forest patches, logged areas and plantations beside natural woodland. It is a small, dark species with a heavy, slightly hooked bill, long legs, strong feet, rounded wings and a short rounded tail. The male shows metallic blue spangling on the crown and breast, with a silky white patch on the lower back extending along much of the tail.
