Tawny-bellied Hermit, Phaethornis syrmatophorus, is a hummingbird of the Andes in South America, breeding from Colombia to Peru. It was described by Gould in 1852 and belongs to the family Trochilidae. It is a hermit with olive-green upperparts and a clearly downcurved bill. The nominate form has orange on the throat, belly and undertail coverts, while P. s. columbianus has dark brown throat and chest. Both sexes show long white central tail feathers, with the remaining tail feathers dark and tipped bright orange.
