Tepui Spinetail, Cranioleuca demissa, is a bird of the tepuis in South America, with its range in Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. It belongs to the ovenbird family Furnariidae and is a resident species. It lives in montane evergreen forest and woodland, and also occurs locally in gallery forest in the Venezuelan Gran Sabana. The nominate form is found where southeastern Venezuela, west central Guyana and northern Roraima meet, while C. d. cardonai occurs on tepuis in southern Venezuela. It is a 14 to 15 cm bird with the sexes alike, and the tail can look spiny because some feathers lack barbs at the tips.
