Tepui Wren

Hylorchilus navai

The Tepui Wren (Hylorchilus navai) is a small, elusive bird found in the tepui regions of South America. This wren is known for its distinctive song, which echoes through the dense undergrowth of the montane forests. It has a cryptic plumage that provides excellent camouflage among the moss-covered rocks and dense vegetation. The Tepui Wren forages for insects and small invertebrates in the leaf litter and fallen logs. Its population is believed to be relatively stable, but it faces potential threats from habitat loss and climate change.
