Teysmann's Sunbird

Cinnyris teysmanni

Teysmann's Sunbird (Cinnyris teysmanni) is a small passerine bird found in the forests and woodlands of Indonesia. It is characterized by its iridescent plumage, with the male displaying a combination of metallic green and blue on its head, back, and throat, while the female has a more subdued olive-green coloration. These sunbirds primarily feed on nectar from flowers, using their long, curved bills to extract the sweet liquid. They also consume insects and spiders for protein. Teysmann's Sunbird builds its nest in the forest canopy, weaving together plant fibers and spider silk. This species is not currently considered to be at risk, with a stable population and a wide distribution.
