Hypsipetes crassirostris
The Thick-billed Bulbul (Hypsipetes crassirostris) is a medium-sized songbird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. This species is known for its distinctive thick and curved bill, which it uses to feed on fruits, insects, and nectar. The plumage of the Thick-billed Bulbul is predominantly olive-brown with a lighter underbelly and a contrasting dark head. It has a melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. These bulbuls are highly adaptable and can be found in a range of forested habitats, from lowland rainforests to montane forests. However, they are particularly associated with dense vegetation and are often found in the mid to upper levels of the forest. The Thick-billed Bulbul is not currently considered to be at risk, and its conservation status is of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
