Thicket Tinamou

Campylorhynchus turdinus

The Thicket Tinamou is a medium-sized bird native to the forests and woodlands of South America. It is known for its cryptic plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in its dense habitat. This species is primarily terrestrial, foraging on the forest floor for seeds, fruits, and small invertebrates. The Thicket Tinamou is a shy and elusive bird, often heard more than seen due to its secretive nature. Its distinctive call echoes through the dense vegetation. Despite its relatively widespread distribution, the Thicket Tinamou faces threats from habitat loss and hunting in some regions.
