Tianquan treecreeper
Certhia tianquanensis
The Tianquan treecreeper (Certhia tianquanensis) is a small, elusive bird species found in the mountainous regions of southwestern China. This treecreeper is known for its distinctive long, curved bill, which it uses to forage for insects and spiders in the bark crevices of coniferous and mixed forests. The plumage of the Tianquan treecreeper is primarily brown and mottled, providing excellent camouflage against tree bark. This species is known for its agile climbing abilities and often moves in a spiral pattern up tree trunks. The Tianquan treecreeper is a relatively understudied species, and more research is needed to understand its ecological requirements and conservation status.
