Pyrrhula leucogenis

The Tibetan Rosefinch (Pyrrhula leucogenis) is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude mountainous regions of Central Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive rose-pink plumage on the breast and belly, contrasting with a gray back and wings. The male has a crimson red head, while the female has a more subdued grayish-brown head. These finches are often found in alpine meadows, scrublands, and rocky slopes, where they forage for seeds, insects, and berries. They are known for their melodious, warbling song, especially during the breeding season. The Tibetan Rosefinch is considered a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, owing to its relatively stable population and wide distribution.
