Tickell's Brown Hornbill

Anorrhinus tickelli

Tickell's Brown Hornbill is a medium-sized bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive brown plumage with a pale yellow bill and a blackish tail. This species is known for its unique nesting behavior, where the female seals herself inside a tree cavity using her own feces and mud, leaving only a small slit for the male to pass food to her and the chicks. Tickell's Brown Hornbill primarily feeds on fruits, insects, and small animals. Its loud, cackling call is often heard echoing through the forest canopy.
