Timneh Parrot Psittacus timneh is a West African parrot found in southern Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, western Ivory Coast and on Príncipe. Fraser described it in 1844, and it is now treated as a full species rather than a grey parrot subspecies. It belongs to the Psittacidae family in the order Psittaciformes. The Príncipe birds are recognised as a separate subspecies. Its range is tied to the moist Upper Guinean forests and nearby savannas, where it uses dense forest, forest margins, clearings, gallery forest, savanna woodland and mangroves.
