Timor Sparrow, Padda fuscata, is a passerine of Timor in the Lesser Sundas, where it breeds in the lowlands and nearby islands. It is a member of the waxbill family and was described by Vieillot in 1807. The bird is closely tied to grassland and other open country, and its range is scattered rather than continuous. It is also linked with rice-growing areas and is regarded as a pest in Timor-Leste. It has a close relationship with the Java Sparrow, and some authorities have placed it in Lonchura.
