Setopagis heterura Todd, 1915
Todd's Nightjar, Setopagis heterura, is a nightjar of northeastern Colombia and north and central Venezuela, with only a single record from Guyana and two from far northern Brazil. It belongs to the Caprimulgidae family in the order Caprimulgiformes. The bird was described by Todd in 1915. It is identified by the shorter tail it shares across both sexes, compared with other nightjars living alongside it. The male has a grey upper side with dark markings, a narrow cinnamon band on the hindneck, a white throat, and a dark breast with fine patterning. The female is duller on the crown, has a buff throat, and lacks white in the tail.
