Torresian Crow, Corvus orru, is a passerine in the crow family found across the Moluccas, New Guinea region and Australia, apart from the far south. It was named by Bonaparte in 1850. This bird is a large corvid with a dark bill and a square-ended tail. Its head and neck feather bases are white, and that feature helps separate it from most similar crows. It also has white irises and a fine blue eye-ring. In Australia it ranges widely, from northern areas into towns, cities and farmland, wherever permanent water is available.
