Townsend's Storm Petrel, Hydrobates socorroensis, is a seabird of the Pacific Ocean, breeding in summer on Islas Negro and Afuera off Guadalupe Island in north-west Mexico. Outside the breeding season it occurs in waters off southern California and southern Mexico. It belongs to the family Hydrobatidae and the order Procellariiformes. It was once treated as a subspecies of Leach's Storm Petrel, and it was formerly placed in Oceanodroma before that genus was merged into Hydrobates.
